Writer's picture: Liz JohnsonLiz Johnson

Here's today's #FunFactFriday! Did you know, Sumner WA is known for it's Rhubarb! Yes, you read that correctly! That tart fruit that grows in pink celery-ish stalks grows right here in the PNW ! In honor of this, the town of Sumner holds an annual festival to honor this sour fruit. In fact, Sumner is the Rhubard Pie capital of the world!

The 2023 Rhubard Days Festival will be hosted by Knutson Farms & the Sumner Downtown Association & held the weekend of June 24-25th along the streets of Downtown Sumner. The event will run from 10am-6pm on both days.

So what can you expect to find at the Festival, besides lots & lots of Rhubard? We are glad you asked! There will be :

-a vintage market

-all downtown stores will be open for shopping

-craft booths

-beer garden

-food trucks

-family friendly fun & games

See you there! Be sure to bring your appetite!
