Share the Warmth this Winter and Donate!

Head’s up Tehaleh, it’s not too late to Share the Warmth this winter by donating to local families in need.

The Bonney Lake Lions Club has asked for your help donating warm winter gear for the homeless members of our community during their Warm Gloves, Hats, Scarves and Socks Drive.

We will have a collection box set up through Sunday, Feb. 18th at The Post where you may donate new packages of socks or gloves, and new or gently used hats and scarves for all ages.

We’re not asking for heaping donations of sweaters, jackets, and boots. However, we won’t turn down one of those sweet neon-colored snow suits from the 80’s. We’re only asking for residents to spare a few everyday items to help keep the fingers, ears, and toes of our community members warm.

Just for fun, let’s do a quick mental inventory of your closet…

How many warm hats or beanies do you own? Okay, what about pairs of gloves and mittens, how many of those? Great! Now, open that sock drawer (whoa, didn’t your mother ever teach you to match?), how many pairs would you guess are in there?

I’m sure you’ve already caught on that the answers don’t really matter. If you can part with just one of these items you’ll be giving the gift of warmth to a community member in need, and that’s awesome.

Your donations are deeply appreciated.

Thank You, Tehaleh!
